2023 Compassion Camp at Cobleskill United Methodist Church

Compassion Camp: What Every Living Things is our 2023 Summer Vacation Bible School program here at Cobleskill United Methodist Church.  At Compassion Camp participants will explore what all living things need to live—shelter, food, water, air, and community—and how we can have compassion for the living earth, especially in their local ecosystems. Through awareness, gratitude, wonderment, reciprocity, and kinship, participants will consider how to become co-sustainers and participants in the work of God’s creation. Using Psalm 104 as our grounding text, along with additional supporting scripture, participants will closely examine the interconnectedness of the whole earth—humans alongside the more-than-human world.
Here's our plan! (Registration below)

We are providing a free 5-day camp for all children finishing grades K-5.  Each day will run from 9:00am to 12:00pm and will include games, story-telling, music, art, snack and compassion-in-action projects.  Our theme this year is "What Every Living Thing Needs" focusing on God's creation and how we can understand and care for it better.

While lunch is not part of our program, parents are welcome to pick up their children and stop by the free lunch happening in our church's basement from 12-1pm.
